Year Leader Position Available

Martin County Leadership Logo-ccWe are seeking a Year Leader to volunteer time and effort in recruiting corporate sponsors and participants in the Leadership program. The 2016-17 session that meets for 1 day each month September through May.

Duties would include:
• Assist with publicity and recruitment of candidates..
• Attend meetings
• Provide suggestions and feedback to Program Administrators & Day Leaders.
• Attend kick-off day Introduction and Social Event in August.
• Attend closing day’s graduation.
• Attend alumni events.
• Assist Riverland Community College and the Chamber in evaluating the leadership building presentations and the Leadership program.
• Develop and participate in succession planning for future Leadership sessions.

The Fairmont Area Chamber and Riverland Comunity College joined to create Leadership Martin County. This program exists:

  • To develop candidate knowledge and understanding of our community…its assets, complexities and potential. To provide an opportunity for participants to meet and exchange ideas with each other and current community leaders.
  • To develop leadership skills through classroom instruction,interactive exercises and small group discussion.
Leadership Martin County utilizes a series of topical seminars held over a nine month period conducted by local and regional professionals.
Area leaders volunteer their time to raise awareness to the assets and opportunities of our community by providing an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at eight key elements of our community. Peggy Young, Business Consultant with Riverland Community College’s Training and Development Department will nurture leadership development by leading discussions that integrate community information through dialogue, interactive exercise and small group discussion.
