Seeking local speakers to encourage community enrichment

The Fairmont Area Chamber and members of the Speakers Series group invite groups and individuals to speak to local audiences. Areas of interests identified by the group include: Home ownership USDA, lending – Personal Finance, Workplace/School Violence, Mental Health, Life Planning/Coaching, Work Ethic, Substance Abuse, Integration/Diversity/Unity, Top 20 Thinking, Employee Engagement/Retention, Rural Narrative Correction, Entrepreneurship, Leadership/Management/Business Practice, Finance, Social Media, Work/Life Balance, Generational Issues, Emotional Intelligence, Advertising/Marketing/Promotion, Volunteerism, Healthy Lifestyle, Community Connectedness, Caregivers

The Speaker Series founded through a Blandin grant have identified these goals:  1) Help make Fairmont a highly competitive community.  2) Provide high quality instruction to our area professionals and citizens.   3) Stimulate discussion and involvement on important community issues.  4) Improve Fairmont’s quality of life through community education.  5) Create a coordinated series that makes Fairmont a better place. The advisory panel consists of: Wes Pruett, Greg Brolsma, Stephanie Busiahn, Mike Humpal, Traci Lardy, Bob Wallace and Margaret Dillard.

The Fairmont Area Chamber will arrange event location, publicity and audience registration. Grants may be available to cover a portion of the costs for speakers, venue and event related costs.
