Local-Scholarships-800x388There are two scholarship opportunities offered annually through Fairmont Area Chamber Committees and partnerships.

 

Ambassador Scholarship

One $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to a student in a business-related field entering their Junior or Senior post secondary year in a four year college or their final year in a technical college.

The Ambassador Committee of the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce offers a $1,000 scholarship to a Martin County student in a business related field entering their Junior or Senior post secondary year in a four year college or their final year in a technical college. The scholarship will be awarded after a review of grades to confirm achievement of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarship applications may be picked up at the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 323 East Blue Earth Avenue or filled out online at the link below. Applications are due at the Chamber office by July 12, 2024.

Agri-Business Scholarship

In partnership with the Agriculture Future of America (AFA), the Agri-Business Committee of the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce is offers two $4,200 scholarships to graduating Seniors of Martin County high schools who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or an area of study that services agriculture which includes registration for the Fall of 2024 AFA Leaders Conference.

Deadline to apply for the AFA Scholarships is March 29, 2024.

Here, you can read more about the AFA Community Scholarships, as well as other scholarships AFA offers. Click on the
“Apply Now” button to access the application. You will be asked to write a 300-500 word essay on you personal vision for agriculture and how you plan to contribute through your chosen career in agriculture and food industry. We encourage you to draft this essay in a separate word processing program and then copy/paste it into the application. Please note that your application is not complete until you continue through the last page of the application and receive an e-mail confirmation.

Applying for an AFA Community Scholarship online also makes you eligible for an AFA national Leader and Academic Scholarship; However you may only receive either a local or national award.
