Fairmont Glows Festival 2018ABOVE: The community gathers along Downtown Plaza in anticipation of the lights and sounds of the Holiday season at the annual Glows Parade.

Santa and Mrs. Claus, direct from the North Pole, will be arriving at the Fairmont Municipal Airport via the North Pole Express around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16th. Everyone is invited to greet this special arrival. Gather the kids, grab those Christmas wish-lists, and head over to the airport for a chance to meet the jolly elf himself. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Join us along Downtown Plaza later in the evening as we kick off the Holiday season with the annual Glows Parade, complete with pre and post-parade activities. The Immanuel Lutheran Church will be serving Chili and Oyster Stew from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at 1200 North North Avenue. The MCSAP Coalition will be hosting a Youth Fun Night at the Martin County Youth for Christ Lighthouse, 213 Downtown Plaza, until 10:00 p.m. All Martin County YoCo students and friends are invited to join them during and after the parade for pizza, hot chocolate, snacks, games and music. Call Steph Johnson (507-236-4118) or the Lighthouse (507-235-6016) for details. The Blazer Bar & Grill will host live music by Lance Allen as well as food and drink specials following the parade. The Fairmont Opera House will feature a performance of “Sleeping Beauty” by the Continental Ballet Company beginning at 7:30 p.m. Watch for additional details regarding these events and activities in the weeks to come.
