Congratulations Carson & Lincoln!

Carson Pomerenke (left) and Lincoln Becker (right) are both from Fairmont, MN and currently attending Fairmont High School and plan to attend South Dakota State University. Carson plans to major in pre-vet and animal science and Lincoln plans to major in agronomy.

The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee partners with Agriculture Future of America to award two scholarships to Martin County students entering a field of study in agriculture. Each recipient receives a scholarship and the opportunity to attend the AFA Leaders Conference.

To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a senior entering their freshman year in a 4 year college program and planning to pursue a career in food or agriculture. The Agri-Business committee meets to review the applications and interview the candidates. From this process, two scholarships are awarded each year.
