April 9th, 2025 is Area Career Exploration Day. The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce along with businesses, educational entities, MN/VAC, CareerForce, and Fairmont Area Schools will be hosting their annual ACE Day in the Fairmont Area Jr./Sr. High School Gymnasium at 900 Johnson Street in Fairmont, MN.  The mission of ACE is to raise awareness of career and job opportunities awaiting sophomore students in our rural communities when they finish their secondary education.  This annual event hosts over 100 area businesses and 600+ students from a dozen area schools.

There are a few changes for this year.

  • The fee for participating is $25 per entity (not per volunteer) with payment via credit card.  If you are a Chamber member, please register with your business email.
  • When registering, note that businesses/exhibitors typically choose 1 or 2 tables for their display (we provide these), but you can certainly ask for more.
  • Businesses/Exhibitors should choose which career cluster they best fall under to help the students navigate (these are listed on the registration page)
  • You may select if you are participating in the Job Fair/Career Refresh portion which has moved to the morning.  This is the time to offer Fairmont juniors and seniors summer jobs, future internships, and have other conversations with prospective employees.

Businesses/Exhibitors may set up on:

  • April 8th – Tuesday: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and/or
  • April 9th – Wednesday: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

We highly recommend that local businesses/exhibitors set-up the night before the event as the loading dock and close parking are limited (and get congested day of).  All exhibits must be set-up by 8:30 a.m. as the Job Fair for Fairmont juniors and seniors starts at 8:40 a.m.

  • 8:40 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.                    Job Fair/Career Refresh for FHS 11/12 Graders in Gym
    • For those of you with summer employment opportunities, future internships or similar, please stay at your exhibit and speak to the junior and senior students as they make their way through.
    • For those of you not participating in the job fair/career refresh, you are welcome to watch the happenings in the Performing Arts Center (PAC), utilize the Business Hospitality Room in the South Gym, or stay at your exhibit.
  • Group 1 of sophomores will be touring the exhibits from 9:50-10:50 a.m.
  • Group 2 of sophomores will be touring the exhibits from 10:50-11:50 a.m.
